Emergency Preparedness Exercise Day Strengthened Staff Competence

We organized, in cooperation with Logisteam and STUK, an emergency preparedness training day for our personnel focusing on accident and leakage scenarios involving Class 3 and Class 7 dangerous goods. The objective of the day was to strengthen participants' ability to identify risks related to hazardous materials, apply safe operating procedures, and carry out effective initial response actions in various emergency and exceptional situations.

The day began with a theoretical session covering the properties of Class 3 and Class 7 dangerous goods, the risks associated with them, and the appropriate response procedures. The training also highlighted the importance of cooperation with authorities, conducting situation assessments, and understanding the fundamental principles of emergency response operations.

During the practical exercises, participants learned the correct use and donning of personal protective equipment and gained a better understanding of its importance in hazardous working environments. Selecting the appropriate level of protection and following safe operating practices are essential for safeguarding both responders and others present at the scene.

The program also included a refresher on emergency first aid in various accident scenarios. Through hands-on exercises, participants strengthened their ability to act quickly and decisively in situations where proper first aid can be critical in minimizing damage and saving lives.

The preparedness training day provided participants with valuable knowledge, practical experience, and greater confidence in responding to demanding hazardous materials incidents and spill situations. The key message of the training was that thorough preparation, continuous competence development, and regular exercises form the foundation for safe and effective action in emergency situations.

A sincere thank you to all participants for their active engagement and for contributing to a successful training day!
